2024 WOMEN’S BARBELL CLASSIC VOLUNTEER RELEASE AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK *

In consideration for my volunteer participation in The Women’s Barbell Classic meet on April 19-20, 2024 (the “WBC”), I, on behalf of myself and my spouse, children, parents, heirs, assigns, personal representatives, estate, and insurers, agree as follows: a) ASSUMPTION OF RISK. I acknowledge that volunteer participation in the WBC entails known and unanticipated risks that could result in physical or emotional injury. I understand that such risks simply cannot be eliminated. I expressly agree and promise to accept and assume all the risks related to my volunteer participation in the WBC. I further agree that if I require medical assistance and/or treatment as the result of my volunteer participation in the WBC, such assistance and/or treatment will be at my own expense or the expense of my insurer(s). b) WAIVE, RELEASE, AND DISCHARGE. I waive and agree to release and discharge the Raise the Bar Initiatives and its officers, directors, administrators, employees, consultants, coaches, volunteers, agents, and insurers (collectively the “Released Parties”) from any claims, demands, causes of action, or legal liability for personal injury, illness, death, or property damage of any kind which I may have now or at any time may acquire or aggravate in the future resulting from my volunteer participation in the WBC, even though that liability may arise out of negligence or recklessness on the part of the Released Parties. c) AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND DEFEND. I agree not to bring any claims, demands, or causes of action against any of the Released Parties for any legal liability related to the claims that I have waived, released, or discharged herein. I agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Released Parties from any claims made or liabilities assessed against them as a result of my volunteer participation in the WBC and/or any costs or attorney’s fees the Released Parties are required to incur to enforce this agreement. d) USE OF PHOTOGRAPHS. I grant permission to Raise the Bar Initiative to use photographs of me volunteering at the WBC for any legitimate business purpose without additional compensation.
